14th Forum of the EU Strategy for Danube Region in Sarajevo
The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the 14th annual forum of the EU Strategy for Danube Region (EUSDR) on 5 and 6 November 2025. The Forum will gather decision makers, representatives of regional and local authorities, experts from the European Union institutions and civil society representatives from 14 countries of the Danube region. The event will serve as an interactive platform for exchanging ideas, strategic planning and policy coordination aimed at a prosperous, green, and digitally integrated future for the region.
Key topics and priorities
The Forum will feature sessions and panels dedicated to the following key challenges:
- EU enlargement and support to candidate countries
- Combating the brain drain and reducing the skills gap and youth unemployment
- Education, vocational training and demographic changes
- Green and digital transition in the Danube region
- Interlinked issues of water management, climate resilience, and territorial cohesion
- Cooperation within the transnational Danube Region Programme (DRP) for more resilient, sustainable and connected region.
In addition, the 12th Danube Participation Day will be held on 4 November 2025 as a side event to the Forum, focusing on the role of local communities and civil society in shaping EU policies and the accession process.
