
Dženana Karup-Druško and Maja Nikolić winners of the best journalistic story award on EU accession process of BiH for 2024
Dženana Karup-Druško and Maja Nikolić won this year’s award for the best journalistic story about the EU accession process of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organised by the Directorate for European Integration in cooperation with the Association of BiH Journalists on the occasion of the Europe Day.
Dženana Karup-Druško was awarded for her story "WHAT EU MEMBERSHIP MEANS FOR CITIZENS: Joining the EU is more important for ordinary people than for political elites" that appeared on the Slobodna Bosna portal. Maja Nikolić was awarded for a report "What does the EU integration mean to the residents of Posavina?" broadcasted on BHT1.
The awards and plaques were presented by the Ms Elvira Habota, Director of the Directorate for European Integration and Mr Goran Skoko, Head of the Assembly of the BiH Society of Journalists.
This is the fifth consecutive selection, and it aims at highlighting the significance of media's role in the European integration process and encouraging journalists to explore the impact of EU accession on daily life of BiH citizens.
The previous winners were: Arnes Grbešić and Selma Melez (2023), Melisa Teletović and Denis Leko (2022), Anel Nurković and Svjetlana Šurlan (2021) and Tamara Ćuruvija and Marko Mlikota (2020).
