Habota and Le Blond discuss strengthening BiH-France cooperation

Elvira Habota, Director of the Directorate for European Integration, met today with General Guillaume Le Blond, Deputy Director for Europe at the Directorate for International Security Cooperation, who is leading a delegation from the French Ministry of the Interior on a multi-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was also attended by Louis Boquien, Internal Security Attaché at the French Embassy in BiH.

Director Habota expressed her appreciation for the successful cooperation between the two countries’ institutions and highlighted the importance of continued support that France provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European integration process.

The discussion focused on advancing European priorities, with particular emphasis on the security sector.

Director Habota noted that, according to the 2025 Report on Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country has made limited progress in Chapter 24, which covers justice, freedom, and security. Key achievements include the adoption of the Law on Border Control, the Law on Personal Data Protection, and the Integrated Border Management Strategy, as well as the signing of agreements with Eurojust and Frontex.
