Habota attends a High Level Panel of the 9th EUSAIR Forum

Director of the Directorate for European integration, Ms Elvira Habota was one of the speakers at the High Level Panel: Post-2027 Cohesion – what the EUSAIR macro-region needs? at the 9th EUSAIR Forum, held on 15 and 16 May in Šibenik.

Director Habota referred to a new dimension of BiH’s participation in the EUSAIR Strategy, given its candidate status and the opening of the EU accession negotiations.

"This underlines the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina's cooperation with candidate countries and EU members. It also allows Bosnia and Herzegovina to participate in decision-making alongside other EU member states," said Habota.

She stressed the need of linking the EUSAIR strategy's priorities to the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, as well as other EU initiatives that strengthen links and accelerate EU membership.

EUSAIR was launched in 2014, and builds on the cooperation of countries through the Adriatic-Ionian initiative.

Greece will take over the EUSAIR presidency from Croatia. Bosnia and Herzegovina successfully completed its presidency in 2023.
