EU accession negotiations discussed at the meeting with journalists

On 23 February 2024, the Directorate for European Integrations organised a meeting with journalists in Teslić to present preconditions for the effective conduct of EU accession negotiations.

 

On 23 February 2024, the Directorate for European Integrations organised a meeting with journalists in Teslić to present preconditions for the effective conduct of EU accession negotiations.

 

In her introductory address, director Elvira Habota pointed out, that cooperation with the media was among the priorities of the Directorate. The media professionals, especially those who report on these topics, have a significant role in the EU integration process.

 

Assistant director for strategy and integration policies, Darija Ramljak, informed the journalists on the Programme of Integration as a precondition for progress of BiH in the EU accession negotiations.

 

European law expert and former chief legal advisor of the negotiation team of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Vladimir Međak, presented the new methodology in the EU accession negotiations and the experiences of Serbia.

 

Former chief negotiator of the Republic of Croatia, Vladimir Drobnjak, presented experiences and learned lessons of the country that successfully completed accession negotiations in 2011.

 

The meeting gathered 15 journalists. At the end, director of the Directorate for European Integration, Elvira Habota, awarded certificates to the participants.

 

Challenges and expectations of North Macedonia in accession negotiations were presented by Dragan Tilev, state advisor for European Integration in the Secretariat for European Integration of the Government of North Macedonia.
