Advanced training on preparing project proposals for media professionals

An advanced training on preparing project proposals for media professionals was organised by the Directorate for European Integration in Sarajevo from 30 March to 1 April 2026.

The training brought together journalists and members of media associations from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, and other BiH cities. Through this initiative, the Directorate continued to strengthen the capacities of the media community in Bosnia and Herzegovina to utilize European Union financial assistance.

During the three-day training, media professionals had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of preparation of project proposals, planning of activities, budgeting, and project evaluation. A special focus of the training was the effective integration of gender mainstreaming throughout the various phases of the project cycle.

The Director of the DEI, Elvira Habota, welcomed the attendees, underlining the vital role the media plays in driving social change and championing core EU values.

"We recognize that financial opportunities for the media in Bosnia and Herzegovina have tightened, making it increasingly difficult to sustain high quality journalism and content development. We hope this training proves practically useful, not only in refining your current ideas but in ensuring you are more prepared and competitive for future EU calls for proposals," Habota noted.
