
Meeting of the priority areas coordinators of the EU Strategy for Danube Region held in Sarajevo
On 26 and 27 February 2025, a Priority Areas Coordinators Meeting (PAC Meeting) was held in Sarajevo under Bosnia and Herzegovina’s chairmanship of the EU Strategy for Danube Region (EUSDR). This important event gathered representatives of European institutions, Member States administrations and regional initiatives, aimed at strengthening cooperation and defining strategic guidelines for the future of the Danube region.
Key topics of the meeting were: EUSDR chairmanship programme of BiH and priority initiatives for 2025, updates from the European Commission on the future of the macroregional strategies and cohesion policy, increasing cooperation among priority areas and the role of the Danube Strategy Point and possibilities of financing through the Interreg Danube programme.
During two-day discussions, participants presented their experiences and ideas on how to improve cooperation, support sustainable development and improve connectivity in the Danube region.
Having assumed chairmanship of the EUSDR, Bosnia and Herzegovina has the opportunity to actively contribute to regional cooperation and implementation of European strategic goals. This meeting in Sarajevo is one more step towards strengthening international cooperation and integration of the country in the EU.
