European Partnership Agreement will additionally deepen the cooperation in the European integration process

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, headed by the State Secretary for Europe in the Ministry,  Andreja Metelko - Zgombić, visited the Directorate for European Integration today.

The State Secretary Metelko-Zgombić pointed out the right moment for BiH to invest additional effort and to take the required steps, demonstrating its ability to make a move to opening EU membership negotiations.

The Croatian support to BiH for opening the negotiations was emphasised, as well as the readiness to help in that path.

The Director of the Directorate for European Integration, Elvira Habota, heading the Directorate’s delegation, expressed her gratitude to Croatia for their support to BiH in the process of European integration.

Director Habota pointed out that after the EC Report on BiH, the priority for the civil service, especially for the Directorate, would be the completion of the Programme of Integration in the European Union. As Director Habota clarified, that document is especially important as it contains the plan of alignment with the EU acquis, which is the requirement from the priority no. 2 from the Opinion of the European Commission and an obligation under Article 70 of the SAA.

The two delegations discussed the so far successful and useful cooperation in the European integration process and agreed that the implementation of the European Partnership Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Croatia would additionally institutionalise and deepen this cooperation.
