The DEI Director at the 6th session of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee
Eight steps from the Recommendation of the European Commission on granting candidate status to BiH and 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission on BiH EU membership application, as well as the subsequent steps in the process were the topics of the first day of the Sixth session of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, taking place on 12 and 13 March 2025 in Strasbourg.
Yesterday, on the first day of the session, the Director of the Directorate for European Integration, Elvira Habota, informed the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee members on the most recent activities of the BiH institutions, including adoption of the Law on Border Control and the Law on Protection of Personal Data.
Director Habota emphasized that the proposal for the Law on the HJPC, recently passed by the Council of Ministers of BiH, along with the Law on Courts of BiH, must undergo the parliamentary procedure, and the chief negotiator and negotiating team must be appointed before the negotiation framework can be adopted and the first intergovernmental conference held.
